Professor J. Nouri is an Emeritus Professor of the Department of Environmental Health Engineering at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He has obtained his BSc degree in biology from University of Tehran in 1971 and his MSc and PhD degrees in Environmental Science from University of London in 1978 and 1980. His major research interests are in environmental science and management areas such as environmental impact assessment, heavy metals pollution as well as dealing with environmental issues at industrial and urban studies. He has been appointed as an international advisor to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) for assessment and evaluation of scientific journals and also, as a member of the Basic Science Publishing Working group of the Ministry. He has also operated nationwide conferences and workshops on academic publishing and related issues and challenges. He is now working on standardization of 30 selected English journals belonged to MSRT in order to promote them to the Web of Science indexing. He has been served as the Dean of the Graduate School of the Environment and Energy of the Science and Research Branch of the Islamic Azad University during 2014-15. He carries more than 35 years of environmental research and teaching experiences encompassing a variety of environmental science and management areas. He has published 14 scientific books and more than 170 articles in related subjects at international journals. He is as a founder and acted as the Editor in Chief of an ISI/ Web of Science journal of “International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology (IJEST)” for 10 years. Moreover, he has been the Co-Editor of “Iranian Journal of Environmental Health, Science and Engineering (IJEHSE)”. He is currently serving as the founder, owner and the Editor in Chief of a new Web of Science and Scopus indexed journal called “Global Journal of Environmental Science and Management (GJESM)”. He has also promoted the INIC English Journals Group for standardization and indexing of scientific journals belonging to Iran Nano Initiative Council, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology. Most recently, he is involved as the research advisor on the scientific journals in the Founder Board as well as the Electronic Branch of Islamic Azad University.

Professor Dr. M Kabir Hassan is Professor of Finance in the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of New Orleans. He currently holds four endowed Chairs- Hancock Whitney Chair Professor of Economics I, Hancock Whitney Chair Professor of Economics II, Hibernia Professor of Economics and Finance, and Bank One Professor in Business- in the University of New Orleans. Professor Hassan is the Winner of the 2016 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Prize in Islamic Banking and Finance. Professor Hassan received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota, USA, and M.A. in Economics and Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA respectively. Dr. Hassan stood first in combined merit list in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC, equivalent to O level) in 1978 from Comilla Zilla School, Comilla, Bangladesh in 1978 and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC, equivalent to A level) in 1980 from Comilla Victoria Government College, Comilla, Bangladesh in 1980, respectively. Professor Hassan has been selected as a Senior Fulbright Scholar for 2022-2023.
Professor Hassan is a financial economist with consulting, research and teaching experiences in development finance, money and capital markets, Islamic finance, corporate finance, investments, monetary economics, macroeconomics, Islamic banking and finance, and international trade and finance. Professor Hassan has done consulting work for the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, African Development Bank, Transparency International-Bangladesh (TIB), Islamic Development Bank, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Bangladesh Bank, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), Government of Turkey and many private organizations. Professor Hassan has been elected a Board Member of Ethics and Governance Committee and Education Board of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for the Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). Professor Hassan served as the Distinguished Visiting Professor at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and has recently been appointed as Distinguished Visiting Professor at the UiTM, Malaysia. Dr. Hassan is elected to the Advisory Council of the World Zakat Forum (WZF), 2021-2023. Professor has served as Member of the Oxford University Said Business School faith-based investing initiative during 2021-22. He is also a member of Christin Michelson Institute (CMI) in 2021.

Professor Jan Dhaene holds a Master degree in Mathematics from Universiteit Gent, Belgium and in Actuarial Science from KU Leuven, Belgium. He holds a Ph.D. in Actuarial Science from KU Leuven, where he worked under the guidance of Professor N. De Pril and Professor M.J. Goovaerts. Currently, he is full professor in actuarial science with the Research Centre Insurance, Department Accountancy, Finance and Insurance at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven. He is head of the Research Centre Insurance at KU Leuven and head of the division ‘Actuariële Toepassingen voor Verzekerings-ondernemingen en Pensioenfondsbeheer’, KU Leuven Research and Development (LRD). He has been teaching various courses on probability and statistics, life insurance, non-life insurance, pension mathematics, actuarial modeling, quantitative risk management, ratemaking and financial mathematics, at all levels of higher education (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. and executive master). His main current research interests are in modeling dependencies in insurance portfolios, incorporating stochastic financial aspects in actuarial models, risk management for financial institutions and integrating financial and actuarial models. He has published over 135 scientific papers in refereed journals including Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, ASTIN Bulletin, North American Actuarial Journal, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Scandinavian Actuarial Journal, European Actuarial Journal, Journal of Actuarial Practice, Journal of Pension Economics and Finance, The Journal of Derivatives, International Journal of Financial Engineering, Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, European Journal of Operational Research, Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, Statistics & Decisions, Stochastic Models, Acta Mathematica Applicatae Sinica. With a notable career in the field of Islamic finance, Dr. Aishath Muneeza currently holds the position of Professor and Associate Dean for Students and Internationalization at INCEIF University in Malaysia. Throughout her professional journey, she has gained extensive experience and received recognition from esteemed institutions in the realm of Islamic finance.
Notably, Dr. Muneeza made history as the first female Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the Maldives, and later as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury in the same country. She has also served as the Head of Islamic Finance at the Capital Market Development Authority of Maldives and has been a member of the Islamic Fiqh Academy (National Fatawa Council of Maldives).
Her contributions extend beyond governmental positions. She has served as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Hajj Pilgrimage Fund, Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited and the Maldives Center for Islamic Finance Limited, which was formed by the government of Maldives to strategize Maldives as the hub for Islamic finance in South Asia. Additionally, Dr. Muneeza is a registered Shariah Adviser with the Securities Commission Malaysia, enabling her to structure Islamic capital market products.
For over a decade, she has held the chairmanship of the apex Shariah Advisory Council of the Capital Market Development Authority of Maldives. She also chairs several in-house Shariah advisory committees. Furthermore, Dr. Muneeza's expertise is sought after as a member of the Board Shariah Committee of CIMB Islamic, Malaysia, and Munich Re. Her involvement extends to the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), where she serves as a member of the Public Interest Monitoring Consultative Committee (PIMCC). Additionally, Dr. Muneeza holds an elected executive membership on the Bar Council of Maldives.

Professor Hirbod Assa joined Kent Business School (KBS) in January 2021 as a senior lecturer in finance and fintech. Prior to that, he worked for 7 years at the University of Liverpool. He has a PhD in financial mathematics in 2011 from the University of Montreal and another PhD in economics in 2013 from Concordia University. His research covers topics in fintech, insuretech, machine learning and risk management. He has been collaborating with prestigious institutions, such as MUFG (Mitsubishi) Bank, Lloyds Bank and Azur UW (part of AIG) on topics in machine learning and data science. Some of these works have already resulted in conference and journal papers. He has worked with Stable Group Ltd and introduced a new insurance product to manage the risk of commodities volatile prices and was recognized by the University of Liverpool as an impact case for 2021 REF submission. He was awarded the title of Head of Consultancy at Liverpool’s mathematics department in recognition of the excellent work in relation to consultancy and external engagement and also was awarded the Balvir Singh medal by Concordia economics department for the excellent achievements in economics PhD dissertation. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Agricultural Finance Review. His Research interests cover topics in: Fintech; Insuretech; Machine learning and Risk management. He is also as editorial member of Iranian Journal of Insurance Research.
